In 2007 I came across some violins in a music catalog, and the mysterious romance surrounding "The King of Instruments" poked at me from those catalog pages. I wondered what sort of person makes a violin, so I decided to find out. I approached Will Bartruff, a master violin maker from Minneapolis, and asked him if he could show me how to make my own violin. Will was kind enough to teach me some of his art, and since then I have continued in my studies and made a handful of instruments.

In the following galleries you can see the results of my work.

Two of my favorite hobbies: Wooden sailing ships and violins!
